We are looking for a Welder position to perform all kinds of welding, brazing, and cutting on any type of metal using gas and electric welding equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for job.
• Interprets drawings and sketches, plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
• Selects materials in accordance with suitability for job.
• Lays out work, makes sketches and determines stock sizes as required.
• Sets up, assembles and constructs special fixtures as needed.
• Performs gas and electric welding in all positions (down-hand vertical, overhead, ect).
• Makes any type of size weld, such as “V” lap, butt, ect., preheating parts when required.
• Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
• Cleans, grinds and flame anneals parts and welded joints as required.
• Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
• Performs brazing as required. May perform thermi welding as directed.
• Makes provisions for handling materials and equipment to and from job site as required in connection with work.
• Works in shop or field as required.
• Performs work requiring a working knowledge of the welding properties of various types of metals, welding rods, welding heats, stress relief, allowances for fixup and machining, and the effect of shrinkage, warpage and expansion.
• Makes out required reports.
Skills Required:
• Must have the ability, confidence, and self motivation to apply talents independently and with good judgment.
• Must be able to read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Must possess manual dexterity skills.
• Must have ability to complete assigned work efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Must have the ability to follow oral and written direction.
• Must be able to operate hand tools including, but not limited to: grinders, drills, saws, measuring tapes, parts washers (including steam cleaner), cabinet blast booths with little supervision.

• 2-year degree in welding or completion of a certified apprenticeship program or at least 2 years’ equivalent work experience.

A keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude are also essential. The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations.

• Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
• Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality

• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software, as well as the ability to set-up, program, and operate CNC lathes and mills to produce parts.
